Message Peicing together my carputer as we speak. I'm really particular about having a clean looking install and I'm also doing it on the cheap. so far I have a HP dv6000 laptop that I got for free with a busted screen and hard drive. 256gig SSD is on order and will be followed by a screen from a compatible verticle aspect replacement LCD for an HP tablet PC. I'm just holding off while I decide if I want to keep the heating vents or axe them too (summer only car, no A/C, and I hate heat blowing in face) so I can decide which size I want to go with. I also got a couple of FFC cables at home I'm trying to splice together so I can remote mount the laptop somewhere more discreet and cooler than under the dash.

basically I'm not really satisfied enough with any of the currently available micro-pc's/tablets/ultra portables or any of the common mounting options so I'm trying to do a hack job with a bunch of different crap.

I even though about trying to make a trackball shifter lol.
